We hadn't seen him for 30 years.
In the year 2000 we had a 30 Year Reunion of Tidewater Virginia Hippies, Freaks, Fairies and Friends
| July 28-30, 2000 there was a reunion of many Tidewater friends who share a unique history. We are from all of the cities that make up Tidewater; Hampton, Newport News, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Poquoson. Some of us are from cities surrounding Tidewater: Williamsburg, Richmond, Franklin, etc. We like to say we all went to different high schools tog | Our Fellow Flower Children from that time and place came together to party and reconnect with old friends. People flew in from Long Beach CA, Northern California, New York, Boston, Florida. A great number of us came in from the Carolinas, West Virgina, Maryland and other parts of Virgina. Some of us hadn't seen each other in 30 years! Many of the same musicians we used to listen to "way back when" got back together and played for this party. Lots of old friends have stayed reconnected since the reunion. In addition to having a great time we raised $950 for the Peninsula AIDS Foundation. |
